Tavannes to Solothurn

Medium (A bit of an ascent first thing Saturday morning and at the end on Sunday,)

Start Point

Tavannes Train Station - 760m

 

End Point

Solothurn Station - 432m

 

High Point

Stallflue - 1409m

 

Lunch

On Saturday we will stop at Bergerie Sur la Rive, Sur Montoz.
On Sunday we will stop at Bergrestaurant Althüsli.

 

Accommodation

Restaurant Untergrenchenberg, about 1000m above Grenchen town.

 

Timings

Saturday Leave Basel SBB at 08h03, Platform 19
Arrive Tavannes at 09h45, with one change -

Biel/Bienne - Arrive 09h10, Platform 4; depart 09h20, Platform 1


Sunday Leave Solothurn at 15h01, Platform 1
Arrive Basel SBB at 15h56, Platform 7, with one change -

Olten - Arrive 16h24, Platform 4; depart 16h30, Platform 10

 

Costs

Accommodation
- Accommodation should cost CHF 48,- for Bed and Breakfast.

Travel (2nd Class Train Ticket with the Halbtax Card)
- Basel to Tavannes - CHF 20,00 (CHF 11.60 SuperSaver)
- Solothurn to Basel - CHF 15,00 (CHF 9,20 SuperSaver)

Meals (inc. drinks)
- Lunch: Approx CHF 30,-
- Dinner: Approx CHF 45,- excluding drinks

Hike Details

For the final hike of 2024,we start of in Tavannes in Jura Canton and head to the beautiful city Solothurn Stadt.

This is another first for us but we should have views of another Jura range to our north and the central plains to our south.

Hopefully, there will be some good food and drink along the way.
